Ozindcare Charity
Ozindcare is a Sydney based charity organisation, operating for the last 30 years.
Celebrating Motherhood: A Night of Music, Laughter, and Community
On May 9th, 2026, the Marayong Community Centre was filled with warmth and spirit as Ozindcare hosted its annual Mother’s Day celebration. The evening was a beautiful tribute to mothers, blending cultural entertainment with the organization's core mission of "Helping the Helpless".
The event was held together by our fantastic MC, Shruti Sunil, whose lively and interactive style kept the energy high throughout the event.
A Heartfelt Opening
The program officially commenced with a warm welcome speech by Mary Miller, the Joint Secretary of the Ozindcare Committee. Her opening remarks set a tone of gratitude and community focus that resonated throughout the night.
A variety of delicious snacks were served right from the start of the program, these treats were thoughtfully distributed on the tables, allowing guests to mingle and enjoy some refreshments as they settled in for the night's festivities.
Soulful Melodies
Music served as the heartbeat of the evening, featuring a lineup of incredibly talented singers who performed live sets throughout the program. We extend our deepest thanks to:
- Ahana Shinoj
- Angela Russel
- Anil John
- Anu Gireesh
- Kiran Jinan
- Lyju Edwinson
Inspiration and Insight
One of the most moving segments of the night was the keynote address by Anitha Kurien. She delivered an inspirational speech, drawing deeply personal connections between her experiences volunteering with Ozindcare and the nurturing nature of motherhood.
The program also featured interactive segments that brought families together, including:
- "Mom Jokes" Icebreaker: A lighthearted way to start the evening.
- Kids Trivia: A fun look at "How Well Do Kids Know Their Moms?".
- Moms Trivia: A segment titled "Mom Knows Best!" that celebrated maternal wisdom.
Empowering the Next Generation
A major highlight was the presentation by the Ozindcare Youth team. They delivered an impressive speech outlining the formal formation of the Ozindcare Youth Group and sharing their ambitious roadmap for the future.
The youth team also shared a touching video documenting their recent Mother's Day initiative. On April 24th, the group gathered to pack specialized hampers, which they then hand-delivered to two local women's shelters: Bayside Shelter and Lou’s Place. This tangible act of kindness perfectly exemplified the spirit of the day.
Home cooked Feast
Following the lucky draw and a heartfelt vote of thanks, guests gathered for a buffet dinner. It was a wonderful opportunity for the community to connect over food, accompanied by additional live singing that provided a relaxing end to a memorable night.
Thank you to everyone who joined us at Marayong. Whether you sang, spoke, or cheered from the audience, you helped us celebrate the incredible mothers in our lives while supporting those in need.
A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Sponsors
An evening of this scale would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors, whose contributions added an extra layer of joy to our celebration.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Sam Gnanasekaran from CBA, who graciously facilitated the beautiful return gifts that every mother took home as a memento of the night.
Our thanks also go to Malabar Gold, who not only sponsored the event but also hosted an exciting lucky draw, awarding gift vouchers to four very lucky winners.
Finally, we would like to thank Microprecision for their vital sponsorship and continued support of Ozindcare’s mission. It is the commitment of partners like these that allows us to honor our community while continuing our work of "Helping the Helpless"
